Adai-Lentil Crepe Bento

Again I wish I could come up with such whimsical name for my bento, or say that I was inspired to create an edible piece of , like so many of my bento making friends do. I used what I had left from my adai-lentil crepes or dosa. I posted how I made them here on The Tiny Skillet. They were full of flavor and very filling and healthy. I try to fill every nook and cranny...I scour my fridge, using all the little tidbits before they get lost forever...

I wanted to use my enoki mushrooms before they got soft, so I think it worked well here. Shaved carrots for color, champagne grapes, tiny mushroom patties, grape leaf rolls, feta, olives, carrots, and some Hello Panda biscuits with choco cream (our favorite). Sometimes you need dessert.

From in my front yard, this was early morning. As I was walking to go inside I...

...saw a row of these cactus blossoms almost ready to open. I'll try to get an after picture next time!
They guava looked so pretty when I cut it open I just had to share it with you (is that wierd?).

  1. The bento and the view/cactus/guava look great. I used to have a guava tree when I lived in Florida. Made many desserts with the fruit.

  2. As always, lovely bento presentation. You're right we sometimes need dessert. Lovely photos of the cactus blossoms and the guava. This remind me of our guava tree back in the Philippines. Thank you for sharing.

  4. Looks like you have joined in the bento bandwagon! I am so amazed when I found out so many bloggers are bento fans. So interesting! Is that guava from your garden? I am so happy just by looking at it. It's pink guava and juicing it is great! I've not come across any pink guava plant here in Malaysia but we have pink guava juice being sold in many supermarkets. When i was little, we had a green guava plant in our family's backyard. Hmm...maybe I should think about planting it now. :). I wish I could plant every single veggie and fruit in my backyard :).

  5. Your bento looks delish! Can you give more info on the mushroom patties? Great use of the carrot shavings for color - I may steal your idea at some point. Yummy panda cookies - we always need a dessert!! :) and your guava looks so yummy!

  6. Your bento just keeps getting better and better Lyndsey! It's beautiful! Gorgeous guava too, definitely not weird! I do agree with Susan B - recipe needed for the mushroom patties, sounds like a good one for Tailgating Time :-)

  7. Gee Lyndz, those are cactus! I thought it's the orange type of wild berry they used to serve with desserts. The guave looks difference from what we have here. We have red ones too but the center is normally white in colour. And not many of them planting the red ones either. Btw, your bento looks great. The two little bento cups fillings look very cute.
    Good night to you.
